History Channel to air "Cover Up: Israeli Attack on the U.S.S. Liberty" on August 9

A program entitled "Cover Up: Israeli Attack on the U.S.S. Liberty" will be aired on the History Channel (www.historychannel.com) this Thursday, August 9. The program will air at 8 pm in all time zones (except Central where it will air at 7 pm) but please check your local listings for the latest information. This show airs as part of the History Channel's 'History Undercover' series with host Arthur Kent.

This program explores the attack on a United States ship several miles off the coast of the Sinai Pennisula that took place on June 8, 1967. Thirty four Americans were killed and 171 were injured in the attack which was carried out by Israel. Deep into the 75 minute attack, the captain and crew realized that the aggressor was Israel, who claimed they couldn't identify the ship as American. This program affords the survivors an opportunity to tell their side of the story and examines contentions that the attack was intentional and that both governments covered up the true details.
