ADC Convention Panels Live on C-Span Friday, June 8 |

Two panels at ADC's 18th National Convention,
which began today at the Crystal Gateway Marriot just outside Washington
DC will be shown live on C-Span tomorrow afternoon. On Friday, June 9
from 2:15-3:45 pm, the convention features a very timely panel on US/Arab
Relations: Perspectives from the Arab World This discussion, which comes
at a time of heightened tensions surrounding the conflict in the Palestinian
territories occupied by Israel, will explore the present state of US/Arab
relations and prospects for future improvement. Panelists include: Buthaina
Shaaban, Vice-President, Arab Writers Union Talal Salman, Editor-in-Chief,
As-Safir Ali Fakhro, Minister, State of Bahrain Mohamed Sid-Ahmed, Columnist,
Al-Ahram
From 3:45-5:15 pm, is an important panel on US/Arab Relations: Palestinian Perspectives. The panel will focus on the effect that the conflict in the Palestinian territories occupied by Israel has had on US/Arab relations, the role of the United States in the Palestinian struggle for independence and prospects for a peace end to the Israeli occupation. Panelists include: Khalil Shikaki, Director, Palestinian Center for Policy & Survey Research (PSR) Jumana Odeh, MD, MPH Raef Zreik, Attorney at Law Linda Mansour, National Lawyers Guild Both of these panels will be shown live on C-Span, the public affairs cable network.
