Completed applications for the summer program must be received by March 30. Applications for internships during the academic year will be considered as they are received.

Your application will not be considered complete, and will not be processed, until all the following items have been received.

  4. Two letters of recommendation (1 personal, 1 academic)
  5. Two-page essay statement
  6. Proof of eligibility for employment*

Once your application has been received and processed, you will be contacted for a telephone interview.

* The following forms of identification are acceptable: U.S. passport, alien registration card, certificate of naturalization, certificate of U.S. citizenship, current foreign passport with employment authorization, OR a driver's license plus one of the following: Social Security card, birth certificate, unexpired INS Employment Authorization.

Educational Programs: Mobilize activists in ADC's "Reaching the Teachers" Campaign; conduct research; establish and maintain contact with school systems; produce lesson plans.
Legal Department: (Law students preferred) Assist with discrimination claims, civil rights and immigration matters.
Media: Assist in media and press communications; maintain ADC library.
Publications: Assist in all aspects in the production of ADC Publications including ADC Times, ADC's 24 page bi-monthly magazine.
Information: Assist in maintaining the National Office Website and work on ADC's mailing list.
Organizing: Conduct research on selected campaigns; learn about day-to-day grassroots organizing; maintain contact with ADC chapters; and help organize campaigns or chapter events.

Internship Agreement: I understand that by submitting this application for admission to the ADC Research Institiute's Student Internship Program, I agree to perform work assignments which will be determined both by my qualifications and the needs of the organization. If I am selected as an intern, I agree to notify the ADC Research Institute, in writing, of my acceptance of the internship at least 30 days prior to the internship starting date. If I chose to decline the internship, I will also notify the ADC Research Insititute at least 30 days prior to the internship starting date. If written correspondence is not received within 30 days, the Research Insititute can assume that I am not participating in the internship program.
