ADC INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Organizing Department

The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee's Organizing Department is looking for one or two interns. The internship provides valuable and substantive experience in grassroots community organizing and political action, event planning, public relations, and general office procedures. Undergraduates receive a $500 stipend for the summer program; the stipend for graduate students is $800. For the school year the stipend is prorated.

Intern Responsibilities

  • Assist the director with work involving the national network of local chapters.
  • Monitor and mobilize activists to work on projects, issues, action alerts, campaigns, etc.
  • Help organize regional conferences.
  • Assist with running ADC's annual Convention in Washington, DC
  • Assist in chapter mailings and respond to requests.

Qualifications Preferred

  • Excellent organizing skills
  • Good writing and oral communications
  • Proficiency in WordPerfect and Windows
  • Community or Campus organizing experience is useful

Schedule:

Full-time during the summer. Schedule is negotiable during the school semester.
