ADC Mourns the Loss of Former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.
Congressman Rahall Introduces Resolution Honoring Hariri
February 14, Washington DC–The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) extends its deepest sympathy and shock at the death of dedicated Lebanese leader, Rafik Hariri. The former Prime Minister, 60, was killed earlier today, along with at least 9 other people, when a car bomb exploded outside St. Georges Hotel in Beirut. ADC offers its condolences to Mr. Hariri‘s wife and family at this terrible time. ADC also extends its sympathies to all those killed and injured by the horrific car bombing.During his lifetime, the former Prime Minister devoted most of his time, energy and resources to rebuilding and revitalizing Lebanon and its economy. Hariri contributed much of his wealth to young people seeking an education and to many other charitable endeavors. His legacy and his work will continue to thrive despite this tragic loss. ADC strongly believes that those responsible for this despicable crime should be prosecuted in a timely manner. The progress of the Lebanese people and government will prevail despite this horrific event.
