PRESIDENT'S
OFFICE INTERN
President Mary Rose Oakar is looking for an intern
to assist in carrying out the ADC mission. The internship will be
an excellent exposure to the current state of Arab-American civil
rights and civil liberties issues and to ongoing efforts to bring
about a more fair and balanced U.S. policy in the Middle East.
The internship is full-time during the summer. Schedule
is negotiable during the school year. Projects will vary based on
the needs of organization
Responsibilities include:

Researching
legislative and other issues, and writing reports

In
coordination with the Government Relations Department, contacting
congressional offices and federal agencies

Networking
with Arab-American and other organizations
-
Attending
congressional hearing
-
Letter
writing, making phone calls, and filing.
Qualifications:
Great research skills, particularly using the Internet
Excellent writing skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of the Arab World and the Arab-American community
