Ralph Nader to Deliver Keynote Remarks 30th Anniversary Luncheon

 

Washington, DC | June 1, 2010 | www.adc.org | The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) is honored to announce that Mr. Ralph Nader will be delivering Keynote remarks on Saturday June 5th at ADC's 30th Anniversary Luncheon (12:30 PM - 2:00 PM), during the 30th Anniversary National Convention. 

 The Luncheon will also feature former ADC Presidents, and will be a memorable occasion to celebrate 30 years of service dedicated to civil and human rights.  This historic Convention will be held from June 4 - 6, 2010, at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, 2660 Woodley Road, NW, Washington, DC.

BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION:

Mr. Ralph Nader is America's most renowned and effective crusader for the rights of consumers and the general public, a lawyer, author, and founder of hundreds of citizen organizations. Born to Lebanese immigrants, Nathra and Rose Nader, Mr. Nader's dream of becoming a "people's lawyer" was instilled in him in adolescence by his parents. He first made headlines in 1965 with his book, Unsafe at Any Speed, which took the auto industry to task for producing unsafe vehicles. Mr. Nader is also widely recognized as the founder of the consumers' rights movement. In addition, he played a key role in the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Freedom of Information Act and the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Mr. Nader was also a presidential candidate of the Green party in 1996 and 2000, and he ran for President as an independent candidate in 2004 and 2008. Mr. Nader has an undergraduate degree in government and economics from Woodrow Wilson School of International Affairs at Princeton University, and is a graduate of Harvard Law School. Mr. Nader was named by The Atlantic as one of the 100 most influential figures in American history, and by Time and Life magazines as one of the hundred most influential Americans of the twentieth century.
