ADC Saddened by Humanitarian Crisis in Japan

Washington, DC | | March 14, 2011 -- The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) extends its deepest sympathies to the people of Japan in light of the recent tragedies arising from the earthquake and the follow-on tsunami.

As you may already know, a tragic earthquake, registering a magnitude of 8.9, and a follow-on tsunami caused devastation in Japan on Friday, March 11th. The death toll is estimated to exceed 1,800 people and it is feared that the actual number will be much higher, as over 9,000 people are still missing, and about 200,000 people are in temporary shelters as reported by news media.

While the devastation is unimaginable, we urge you to help in any way you can in the relief efforts. If you wish to donate, please see the following list of relief organizations or designate an entity of your own choosing.
