Alarming Increase of Travel Related Harassment/Bans
Washington, DC | www.adc.org | August 8, 2012 – Recently the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) has experienced an alarming increase in the number of intakes pertaining to “no-fly” list and travel-related matters. ADC is representing a number of US Citizens who are currently banned from returning home after international travel. The cases include matters involving undue delays upon entry, and intrusive/unconstitutional questioning by officials from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), including the Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
ADC has also contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of State in an attempt to resolve these matters. In the event the matters are not resolved ADC will proceed with appropriate and necessary legal action to ensure the issues are immediately resolved and the rights of the community are protected.
