TPS for Syria: Important Re-Registration Notice

Washington, DC | www.adc.org | March 7, 2018 | The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) successfully campaigned for the renewal of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Syria. Please adhere to the following notice for TPS re-registration for Syrian beneficiaries.

Current TPS beneficiaries must re-register between March 5–May 4, 2018, to maintain their status through September 30, 2019.

            To Re-register, click here

All applicants must submit Form I-821, Application for Temporary Protected and Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization.

To allow for processing time, all work permits for TPS re-registering applicants expiring March 31 are automatically renewed through September 27, 2018, to ensure there is no interruption in employment authorization.

To be eligible for TPS, a Syrian individual must have resided in the U.S. since August 1, 2016, and been continually present since October 1, 2016.

Re-registration requires a fee. If an individual demonstrates an inability to pay the fee, you may apply for a fee waiver here

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will reconsider Syria’s TPS designation in September 2019.
