ADC Congratulates Imad Hamad on Attaining US Citizenship

September 9, 2002
ADC congratulates its Michigan Regional Director, Mr. Imad Hamad, on attaining U.S. citizenship at a ceremony at the the Lebanese-American Heritage Manor in Dearborn, Michigan this morning. ADC President Ziad Asali is attending the ceremony on behalf of ADC. Imad Hamad faced numerous attempts by the government to deport him during the 1980s and 1990s. In 1998, he became one of the first individuals to triumph over secret evidence when a series of immigration judges repeatedly dismissed and ruled against government claims against him.
ADC thanks Mr. Hamad for many years of devoted service to the organization and congratulates him on finally reaching the last stage of a heroic struggle to realize his dream of becoming a United States citizen.
