ADC on Al-Jazeera

December 7, 2005
Washington, DC — The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) will be represented by Legal Department Director Kareem Shora on the Al-Jazeera news television network today. Shora will appear live on Al-Jazeera’s show “Ma Warra’ al-Khabar” (What is Behind the Headline), which will air live at 1:30 pm EST (8:30 pm in most of the Middle East).
Shora will be discussing the USA PATRIOT Act and its impact on civil rights and liberties in the United States in light of the verdict issued yesterday in the case of Dr. Sami Al-Arian. The Al-Arian verdict was viewed by most observers as the first trial, and major defeat, to some of the most controversial elements of the Act. Please note, as with all live television programming, the show is subject to change without notice.
