Convention Opening Reception and Art Exhibit!

Washington, DC | www.adc.org | June 9, 2022| The American-Arab Anti-Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) is excited to announce the 2022 Convention opening reception and Art Exhibit.  ADC will present two Arab American artists during our convention weekend! The artists will have their work on display beginning on Friday evening during our opening reception, and during the day and throughout the evening on Saturday. We celebrate Arab Americans in all professions, and art is an important part of our history in this country. Join us both days and check out the beautiful art curated by both artists.

Meet the Artists:

Elias Bouderdaben is an Algerian Amazigh Muslim printmaker living on occupied Piscataway and Nacotchtank lands (also called “DC”), who firmly believes art cannot exist outside of activism. Elias explores concepts of pleasure, revolution, diaspora, and the intersections of race and spirituality in various types of prints.

Nawaf Soliman is a Palestinian calligrapher, and has developed a unique style of calligraphy (SpongePen) and (Separate Letters) based on the sophisticated, traditional scripts of the Arabic Language. He has been commissioned by various organizations and collectors to create elaborate calligraphy art projects that demonstrate the beauty and depth of the traditional Arabic calligraphy mixing it with other Asian typography styles.
