Events:     

  • Wednesday, April 16th at 11:45am in Washington, DC. The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights is hosting a panel entitled, “Low-Level Crime, Maximum Time: The Impact of Harsh Sentencing on Communities of Color.”  Lunch will be served. Click here for details. 

  • Thursday, April 17 at 9:30am in Washington, DC at the Jerusalem Fund & Palestine Center:  ”Morning Lecture – Washington and the Peace Process: Assessing America’s Role, Past and Present with Rashid Khalidi.”  Co-sponsored with The Institute for Palestine Studies.   • Saturday and Sunday, April 26th and 27th in Atlanta, Georgia. Alif Institute presents the 9th Annual Atlanta Arab Festival 2014. Click here for details. 

  • Wednesday, April 30th at 5:30pm at Byblos Banquet Hall in Dearborn, Michigan. 15th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Dinner with Professor Adrien Wing as the Keynote Speaker. RSVP by emailing adcmich@adc.org. 

  • Saturday, May 17 at 8:00am in Washington, DC.  3rd Annual Gaza Solidarity 5K Walk/Run. The proceeds from this event will benefit UNRWA’s psycho-social support program for children in Gaza suffering from psychological trauma and PTSD. Click here for details.

Arab-American heavyweight wrestler Ziad Haddad was selected as the 2013-14 NCAA Division II Wrestler of the Year:

Kutztown’s Haddad named Division II Wrestler of the Year

The junior from Orefield, Pa. was ranked No. 1 all year and capped a perfect 25-0 season with a 5-4 victory over previously unbeaten Jacob Mitchell of California Baptist in the national tournament finals on March 15.
