Thursday, May 1, 2008 is the last day to register for the $335 Early Bird convention full registration package. After May 1, the rate will return to a regular registration rate of $385. Convention packages are selling fast and ADC has limited seats available for the Friday Luncheon on Capitol Hill.
This year’s convention will be held June 12-15 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington, DC. The hotel rate for this year’s convention is $129 a night for single or double occupancy. This is a $30 discount from last year’s prices and the cheapest hotel rate offered for an ADC convention in the past five years! The Annual National Convention is the largest annual gathering of Arab Americans in our nation’s capital and ADC invites you to be part of this annual tradition. This year, the ADC Convention program of panels is built on three tracks: foreign policy, domestic policy, and cultural affairs. Confirmed featured speakers include House Judiciary Chair Congressman John Conyers (D-MI), Senator Chuck Hagel (R-NE), former Democratic presidential candidate Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), and Secretary General of the Palestinian National Initiative Mustafa Barghouthi, MD, among others.
ADC will also be hosting international singer Chantal Chamandy who will give a special 90-minute multilingual performance entitled, “Beladi.” In September 2007, Chantal was joined by the Cairo Symphony Orchestra in a sold-out performance of the same show at the feet of the Great Sphinx in Egypt.
