Pipes Nomination Vote Scheduled for Next Wednesday Monday is National Call-in Day to Oppose

The nomination of Daniel Pipes to the Board of Directors of the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) will be voted on by the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions next Wednesday, July 23.
This Committee usually approves uncontroversial nominations without debate or a hearing, and it appears that this vote too will occur without a debate or a hearing. However, Daniel Pipes’ nomination should be rejected because of his numerous bigoted statements against Arabs and Islam and his hard-line opposition to just peace in the Middle East based on the exchange of land-for-peace and the concept of two states, Israel and Palestine, endorsed by President George W. Bush.
ADC is making Monday, July 21 a National call-in Day to Oppose the Pipes Nomination
